Come aside and rest awhile...
For years now, a group of pastors have set aside a week
each fall in order to seek the Lord. Most of the day is spent alone and the
evenings are filled with food and fellowship. As they took this time aside,
personal victories were won, peace was wrought, and valuable friendships were
forged. We learned more about ourselves and each other during these times
than in almost any other setting. Each year has been rich experience. One young
pastor, nearing the end of his first week of camping, remarked, "This has been
more valuable to me than a year at Bible School."
Come and find out what he meant. Come aside and seek the Lord!
What is it about:
- Take time to be alone with the Lord
-
Time to hear from the Lord
- Have time just to rest and
read
- Spend five days with a group of other pastors
- Great times of fellowship
- Great food
- Nice location
- Have your own cabin
- An inexpensive personal retreat
- Times of refreshing from the presence of
the Lord
The Purpose
I have been taking pastors out camping
like this for about twenty-five years and have seen it benefit their lives and
ministries. There is a growing need for this kind of time aside just to unplug.
This concept is only going to become more essential as the pressure on ministry
increases. In order to learn more about the vision for the Pastor's Campout,
