Why Join Our Network?
To initiate the process of joining Word of Grace, please
fill-out an
application so we can
learn more about you. An appointment will be arranged for you to meet with one
of our Elders Team. You must agree with our
Statement of Faith and
we hope that you walk with an open heart concerning the distinctives that are
important to us. Read through the material on this website carefully as it will
help you decide if we are the right group for you. Churches that are planted by
Word of Grace will automatically become eligible to be a part of our Network.
Because one of our goals is to
build close relationships, we avoid recruiting people for the sake of swelling
numbers. Instead, we require all pastors to go through a "courtship period",
where we can see how deep their commitment is to our values and vision.
FOUR REASONS WHY SOMEONE MAY WANT TO BECOME PART OF OUR NETWORK
1. THEY LIKE
OUR PURPOSE:
Someone may want to join Word of Grace Network
because they have a desire to work with others to plant new churches, help
develop new leaders, and find new ways to reach the lost here and overseas. The
Kingdom of God advances best through cooperative effort and much can be
accomplished when people with the same vision and different gifts work together.
Some might join because they realize that it
is not enough to build strong, healthy churches within their own communities.
They want to see the good things that God has done in their midst multiplied
outside their area. Our churches can work together by sending out short-term
prayer teams, outreach teams, construction teams, and by providing special
giving, as God leads. We want to target specifically selected cities for these
outreach efforts.
2. THEY LIKE OUR QUALITY OF LIFE:
Another reason someone may want to join Word
of Grace is because they have a strong desire for real fellowship. A strong
relationship formed between leaders not only strengthens them personally, but
also will benefit the overall ministry of their local church. The central focus
of our network, the thing that will hold us together, is the personal
relationships we develop.
3. THEY WANT A STRUCTURE THAT FACILITATES MINISTRY
RATHER THAN LIMITS IT:
We all have experienced both the
limitations and blessings of structure. While some structure is needed in order
to work together more effectively, we do not want to put our time and resources
into maintaining a system of government that is too top-heavy, or a bureaucracy
that takes us away from our ministries. We want an Elders Team that is freed-up
to function in their confirmed gifts and callings.
4. THEY WANT TO TRAIN THE NEXT GENERATION:
If we are going to
participate in the harvest, we are going to have to train more laborers.
We believe that the primary place to receive training and preparation for the
ministry is in the local church. Our young men and women should be invited to
serve alongside functioning ministry. They should not just learn about
ministry, they should get to do it. We will encourage this and will supplement
your training program by providing equipping seminars and retreats that focus on
preparing for ministry. We also want to provide opportunities for those who are
being trained to go into our cities and mission fields on a short-term basis.
