OUR HISTORY IN PORTUGAL
My first trip to Portugal was a group trip from YWAM in Madrid going to attend a Bob Fitts worship seminar. While that was truly worth the trip, I also met Joao Burros, who was the director of YWAM Portugal. I knew as we talked that we would some how work together. Joao invited me to come back to teach at the base. He also was well connected with the churches all over Portugal, which we visited together, from Lisbon to the mountains in the north.
When I was just a new believer, the first person I lead to the Lord and into the Baptism with the Holy Spirit was Portuguese. He introduced me to his culture and food. Since then, I have met many like him in Portugal who are hungry for the reality of Christ in their lives, and the power of His Spirit.
